Swift Measures: Directors of Key Aviation Agencies Sacked Shortly After CEO Overhaul (Full List)
In a decisive move by the federal government, less than 24 hours after dismissing all heads of aviation agencies, a subsequent announcement revealed the removal of the directors from their positions.
The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development conveyed the development through a statement issued by Odutayo Oluseyi, the Head of Press and Public Affairs. The directors were instructed to promptly hand over their responsibilities to the most senior individuals within their respective departments or directorates.
According to reports, some of these directors had been appointed just days before May 29, marking the transition from the previous administration to the new leadership under President Bola Tinubu.
The official statement cited the change in leadership of the Aviation and Aerospace Development Agencies’ CEOs and MDs as part of a strategic initiative to revitalize the aviation industry. The objective is to enhance safety and ensure an efficient air travel experience for Nigerians, aligning with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
The affected agencies include:
Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN)
Nigeria Metrological Agency (NiMET)
Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA)
Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)
Nigeria Safety and Investigation Bureau (NSIB)
The directive emphasized that Board Secretaries and Legal Advisers of these agencies are not impacted by the decision.
“All affected DIRECTORS are to ensure strict compliance, please,” concluded the statement, signaling a swift and comprehensive overhaul within the aviation sector.
