The lawmaker, who represents Obubra I State Constituency, was suspended indefinitely by the State House of Assembly following allegations of domestic violence. The suspension came after a video circulated online showing Glory Agbor with visible swelling and bruises on her face.

In a new video statement, Glory Agbor refuted the allegations, emphasizing that no such incident took place. She suggested that the video was fabricated to tarnish her husband’s political reputation ahead of the upcoming elections.

“Nothing of such actually happened. Maybe it’s AI, or maybe they want to use that to blackmail me and my husband,” she said. “Look at me. I’m fine. There’s no mark on my face. Nothing of such happened.”

While the Assembly’s suspension of Ovat Dickson Agbor remains in place, his wife’s statement casts doubt on the authenticity of the widely shared video and highlights concerns about the misuse of AI technology to manipulate public perception.
