Suspect in Charlie Kirk Murder Identified as 22-Year-Old Tyler Robinson

Authorities have identified the suspect in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Utah.

According to reports, Robinson confessed to his father about carrying out the attack during Kirk’s scheduled appearance at the University of Utah. His father subsequently contacted police and turned him in, CNN reported. The New York Post was the first to reveal Robinson’s identity.

Neighbors described Robinson as a quiet, withdrawn young man with no significant criminal history. Investigators say he had been struggling with personal issues, and it remains unclear whether the shooting was politically motivated or driven by personal grievances.

Kirk, 31, was the founder of Turning Point USA, a conservative youth organization that rose to national prominence for its outspoken activism on college campuses. He was set to speak at the University of Utah as part of his “American Comeback Tour” when the fatal shooting occurred.

The killing has drawn nationwide condemnation, with political leaders and activists across the spectrum denouncing the violence. Authorities say Robinson is cooperating with investigators following his father’s decision to contact police.

Formal charges against Robinson are expected in the coming days as officials work to determine the motive behind the attack.
