Stunned JAMB Demands Answers From Correctional Authorities After It Discovered that Non-Prisoners Wrote UTME in Prison Facilities

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said it withheld results of candidates not serving prison terms who sat for the 2020 UTME at prison facilities in the country.

JAMB registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, who disclosed this on Monday during a virtual meeting with Vice Chancellors, Rectors, and Provosts of tertiary institutions said the results of the affected candidates were withheld after it was discovered that they took the exams from the prisons facilities.

“There are candidates who took exams in the correctional centres that we know are not prisoners.

“So we wrote to the correctional centres to explain how that happened, because we did not want non-prisoners to take advantage of the concessions we give to inmates,” Oloyede said.
