Students sitting for School Cert exams abducted in Kaduna State
Some students of Prince Academy in Chikun local government area of Kaduna state have been abducted.
The students were preparing for their junior school certificate examination when they were abducted.
The gunmen were reported to have moved to the school after they had initially raided a community in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State.
The gunmen were reported to have raided the community “in a large number like they always do” and were shooting sporadically throughout the operation.
An eyewitness report had it that “They abducted many people in the village, then they went to Prince Academy and abducted many of the students who were receiving lessons for their JSS3 exams,”
The report also stated that the number of people kidnapped still remains unknown. The villagers had to resort to rescuing themselves, when they noticed that soldiers who came to the rescue them turned back on seeing the number of the gunmen.
Mohammed Jalige, spokesman of the Kaduna state police command, could not be reached for comments.
It would be recalled that one of the major reasons for the withdrawal of the invitation extended to Nasir El Rufai, the Kaduna State Governor by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) as one of the speakers at its annual conference, was the continued insecurity situation in southern part of Kaduna State.
