“Stop Visiting Your Ex-Wife in Her Bedroom,” Court Orders Man
A Shari’a court has directed Aminu Adamu to cease visiting his ex-wife, Jamila Sani, in her bedroom, following the confirmation of their divorce.
Judge Anas Khalifa ruled that Mr. Adamu’s visits to his former wife’s private space were inappropriate, emphasizing that there is no marital relationship remaining between the two due to the divorce. The judge stated, “You must refrain from meeting with her in private. If you must see your children, see them outside her room.”
In addition to the visitation restrictions, the court ordered Mr. Adamu to fulfill his parental responsibilities, including providing for his children’s feeding, school fees, shelter, and healthcare.
The proceedings began when Ms. Sani petitioned the court to recognize the three divorce pronouncements made by Mr. Adamu in June and to grant her custody of their children. Mr. Adamu committed to paying N15,000 weekly as a feeding allowance for the children.
