“Stop Showing Up Just for Photo Ops”: Reno Omokri’s Ex-Wife Calls Him Out for Neglecting Son with Special Needs
Reno Omokri, former media aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has been publicly criticized by his ex-wife, Tuokpe Onuwaje, over his recent social media post. Omokri shared a photo with their daughter, captioning it: “My beautiful lookalike alakowe daughter joined me in the gym today.”
In response, Tuokpe took to Facebook, urging her ex-husband to focus on meaningful engagement with their children rather than staged moments for social media. She highlighted that their son, who has special needs, has not spent quality time with his father since June 2024.
“Stop showing up just for photo ops—show up for real life,” she wrote. “Our son with special needs is waiting for quality time with his dad, not just the fleeting visits you do with his siblings. Prioritize meaningful moments over social media validation. Be present, be involved, and be a constant in your children’s lives. Real parenting happens in the everyday moments, not just in staged photos. Put down the camera!”
The post has sparked conversations online about parenting, social media, and the responsibilities of fathers in blended families.
