“Stop Saying Happy Mother’s Day” – Lady Apostle Helen Ukpabio Warns Christians, Gives Reasons
Lady Apostle Helen Ukpabio, founder of Liberty Foundation Gospel Ministries, has issued a strong warning to Christians, urging them to distance themselves from celebrations such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and similar occasions, which she claims are rooted in paganism and constitute modern forms of idolatry.
In a video message shared online, the fiery evangelist criticised the increasing acceptance of these commemorative days within Christian communities. She described them as “subtly packaged” strategies used by the devil to lure believers into unknowingly honouring ancient taboos and engaging in rituals tied to idol worship.
“The Bible already warned us,” Ukpabio stated, citing the book of Acts. “These idols kept those days as taboo days. They didn’t go to the farm. They exchanged gifts and did all these rituals. That’s what you’re repeating today — just in another form.”
Questioning the origins of the celebrations, she challenged Christians who observe them: “You keep saying Happy Mother’s Day, Happy Father’s Day… From what platform?” She argued that honouring parents should be a daily act, not confined to a single day designated by societal norms.
Ukpabio emphasised that participating in such global holidays could be spiritually dangerous, warning that what many consider harmless traditions might be viewed by God as acts of idolatry. “The Bible doesn’t want you to be an idolater. The penalty is grave,” she cautioned.
