Speed Darlington and Portable Set for Epic Celebrity Boxing Match, Date Fixed – Who Will Win?
Controversial Nigerian musicians Speed Darlington and Portable are set to face off in a highly anticipated celebrity boxing match. The event will take place on April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos.
The ongoing rivalry between the two began in March when Speed Darlington offered Portable N500,000 to perform at his upcoming show. Portable, however, deemed the amount insulting, calling Darlington “poor” and insisting that he charges N20 million for performances. “You are inviting me for a show, and you don’t have money. You use my name to promote your show. I charge N20 million, ask around. I don’t want to be friends with poor people,” Portable stated at the time.
In response, Darlington expressed regret for offering Portable the amount, questioning why the situation had escalated with insults. Portable, however, retaliated by challenging Darlington to a fight, claiming that he would defeat him just as he did with actor Charles Okocha.
The demand for a showdown between the two escalated online, and the match was officially organized. The fight has garnered significant attention, with fans eagerly awaiting the street kings’ battle for supremacy.
The event will add to Portable’s growing reputation in the celebrity boxing scene, as he had previously defeated actor Charles Okocha in a similar match in December 2023. The upcoming match is expected to draw considerable attention, further fueling the rivalry between the two artists.
