South African Minister, Mthembu tests positive for COVID-19
The South African Presidency has confirmed that the Minister in the Presidency, Jackson Mthembu tested positive for COVID-19 after displaying notable symptoms in a statement.
In addition, the Presidency revealed that all those in direct contact with the Minister are currently in self-quarantine.
The Minister wished all others infected with the virus a speedy recovery, urging all to engage in routine handwashing, wearing of facemasks, and practice social distancing.
The second wave of the Coronavirus for South Africa has been particularly high, with the nation recording 21,606 cases within the last 24 hours.

There has been a huge strain on medical facilities nationwide causing serious strain on medical personnel, also two-thirds of COVID-19 patients are currently on oxygen support.
The South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa will be meeting with the Coronavirus National Command Council along with religious leaders to discuss ways to curb the escalating numbers.
