The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Sokoto state, Malam Sa’idu Umar, Sunday received 6,221 supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from 5 Wards in Wamakko local government who decamped to the party.
Receiving the defectors, Malam Ubandoma, assured them of equal treatment and stated that there is no discrimination in PDP between the old and new members.
He charged the decampees and old members to go back to their respective villages to carry out house- to -house campaign and tell people the difference between the APC and PDP.
He said if given the mandate, he will vigorously pursue mass rural / urban transformation.
He aligned himself with people of Wamakko local government and added that the local government would be among the topmost local governments that would receive priority during his tenure as governor.
“Let me tell you what you don’t know. I’m one of you. Wamakko local government is in my heart. But you won’t know until when we get there. Time will tell, Insha Allah.”
Also speaking, the PDP state chairman, Belllo Aliyu Goronyo, said it is clear that by receiving these people, APC is dead in Wamakko local government and Sokoto state.
