Simon Ekpa is a Common Criminal Exploiting the Igbo People; Finnish Government Should Repatriate Him” – Gov Mbah
Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has strongly criticized Simon Ekpa, a Finland-based leader of the Autopilot faction, accusing him of exploiting the emotions and sufferings of the Igbo people for personal gain. Mbah urged residents of the Southeast to ignore Ekpa’s threats and sit-at-home orders.
Speaking during a visit from the House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence, Mbah expressed dissatisfaction with the Finnish government’s protection of Ekpa, despite the significant harm caused by his alleged supporters. The governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to ending the disruptions caused by such non-state actors.
Mbah condemned Ekpa as a “businessman” who thrives on creating a state of fear and chaos for financial gain. He criticized the Finnish government for allowing Ekpa to reside in a country with strong rule of law while inciting unrest in Nigeria.
The governor assured the people of Enugu of their safety and vowed not to be intimidated by criminals. He called on the House Committee to address the issue with the Finnish authorities, advocating for Ekpa’s repatriation and legal action.
The House Committee, led by Chairman Hon. Ahmed Satomi, commended Governor Mbah for his leadership in security and governance.
