Sia’s Estranged Husband Demands $250,000 Monthly Support After Less Than Two Years of Marriage

International pop star Sia is facing major financial demands from her estranged husband, Dan Bernard, as their marriage heads for divorce.

According to reports from Billboard and E! News, Bernard has asked the Australian singer to pay him $250,000 (over ₦370 million) every month in spousal support, along with $300,000 (₦444 million) to cover his lawyer’s fees and another $200,000 (₦296 million) for accounting costs.

Sia and Bernard tied the knot in 2023 and quietly welcomed a baby named Somersault in 2024, according to court documents. Earlier this year, Sia filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences,” and requested both legal and physical custody of their child.

Bernard, a former radiation oncologist, claimed he left his medical job at Sia’s request because she disliked his long working hours. The couple later opened a ketamine treatment clinic in Los Angeles in 2021, but Bernard now says Sia stopped funding the business. He added that he cannot return to his old job because his medical licence has expired.

“I am financially dependent on Sia,” Bernard reportedly said in court filings, describing the singer as “the breadwinner” during their relationship.

He also revealed that they lived an extravagant lifestyle, spending about $400,000 (₦592 million) a month on luxury travel, fine dining, and full-time household staff. Bernard insists that Sia can afford to maintain that standard of living for him through support payments.

Court documents further show that Sia once gifted Bernard a Porsche 911 Targa 4 after their wedding.

As of now, Sia has not publicly responded to her estranged husband’s financial demands.
