Shehu Sani Declines Miss World Nigeria Judge Appointment, Gives Reasons
Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has declined an appointment to serve as a judge for the upcoming Miss World Nigeria Beauty Pageant. The event is set to take place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos on April 4.
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, a former colleague and friend of Sani, announced the appointment on Wednesday via social media. He congratulated Sani and urged him to arrive at the venue by 6:00 PM in formal attire.
However, Sani took to his social media platform, X, on Thursday to reject the offer. He expressed gratitude for the invitation but cited personal reasons for declining. According to him, his wives would not approve of his role as a judge. He humorously added that he had never been able to determine the most beautiful among his own wives, let alone judge contestants he did not know. Sani also noted that he lacked experience in beauty pageants and preferred to spend the Sallah period with family and friends.
The former senator apologized for any inconvenience his decision may have caused Bruce and the event organizers, while extending his best wishes to them.
