Seyi Tinubu Reacts to Allegations of Orchestrating Assault, Abduction of NANS President Atiku Abubakar
Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has denied serious allegations made by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Atiku Abubakar Isah, who claimed that Seyi was behind his abduction, assault, and a forced public statement renouncing his position.
Isah, speaking at a public forum, alleged that he was invited to Lagos for a meeting with Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youths, during which he was offered N100 million to publicly support the Tinubu administration. He said he declined the offer, insisting that his support could not be bought and would only be based on the government’s performance.
Following his refusal, Isah claimed he was abducted on April 15, stripped naked, and brutally beaten. He alleged that the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) collaborated in the plot and forced him to make a televised statement under duress, renouncing his leadership of NANS. He later disowned the statement, saying he was coerced with threats that a compromising video would be released.
Isah further alleged that one of his abductors claimed Seyi Tinubu assured them they would face no consequences and could even kill him without fear of legal repercussions.
In response, Seyi Tinubu took to Instagram to deny all claims, describing the allegations as false and a complete fabrication.
