Several US warplanes crash in Kuwait, all crew members survive
Several United States warplanes crashed in Kuwait on Monday morning, but all crew members survived, the country’s defence ministry said, as regional tensions escalated for a third consecutive day.
In a statement, a defence ministry spokesperson confirmed the incident, saying multiple US aircraft went down earlier in the day. The cause of the crashes is under investigation.
Authorities launched search and rescue operations immediately after the incident. The crews were evacuated from the crash sites and transported to a hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
The ministry said their condition is stable.
The crashes occurred as Iran continued strikes across the Gulf region, following US and Israeli military action over the weekend. On February 28, the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, prompting retaliatory missile attacks targeting Gulf states and Israel.
Further details about the number and type of aircraft involved were not disclosed.
