Seven ‘One-Chance’ Suspects Arrested in Abuja Over Killing of Ex-NYSC Member Oluchi Opara

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested seven suspects allegedly involved in the killing of Miss Oluchi Opara Glory, a recently concluded National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member in Abuja.

The arrests, which took place between August 8 and September 25, 2025, followed a petition by Onyegbula Akujuobi & Co. to the Inspector General of Police. The petition was referred to the FCT Commissioner and acted upon by the Scorpion Squad under ACP Victor O. Godfrey, using actionable digital and reconstructive intelligence.

The suspects—Solomon Obada, Olemba Ajonwe, Aba Godwin, Kadijat Yakubu, Sunday Ejih Okpeh, Joseph Oche Samuel, and Michael Sunday Eneh—were traced to Mararaba, Nasarawa, and Kaduna. During interrogation, Obada and Ajonwe reportedly admitted to stabbing the victim inside a blue Golf car during a struggle over her phone before leaving her in Wuse II.

Authorities have recovered the victim’s mobile phone and the operational vehicle, while one suspect remains at large.
