Senator Yar’adua Clears Air on Alleged Defection from APC to ADC
Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua has denied reports suggesting he is planning to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The lawmaker, who represents Katsina Central Senatorial District, described the rumours as baseless and the product of media mischief.
In a statement issued on Sunday night, Senator Yar’adua reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and expressed full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He urged the public to disregard what he called speculative and misleading headlines regarding his political affiliation.
“I wish to categorically reaffirm my unwavering commitment and support for the All Progressives Congress (APC),” the statement read. He further clarified that there should be no assumptions about political alignment based solely on shared family names. “It’s essential to clarify that not all individuals sharing the Yar’adua surname imply a political association with me,” he added.
The senator’s comments come amid growing speculation on social media and in some sections of the press about a possible defection. His statement appears aimed at putting those rumours to rest and reinforcing his stance within the ruling party.
