A former lawmaker, Senator Buruji Kashamu, who represented Ogun-East Senatorial district between 2015 and 2019 has been reported dead.
He was reported to have died at First Cardiology Consultants, Lagos.
There had been earlier reports that he had been seriously ill and under intensive care at the hospital.
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce confirmed his death on his Twitter handle saying, “I have lost my good friend……..Until his death Sen Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable………..” .
I have just lost my good friend of forever to #COVID19. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable. He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos. Kashamu, was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 election.
He was also facing extradition for alleged drug trafficking before his death.
