Security Guard Arrested for Murder of Retired Judge in Delta State
Delta State Police have arrested a 25-year-old security guard, Godwin Mngumi, in connection with the murder of retired judge Justice Ifeoma Okogwu in Asaba. The arrest was made by operatives of the homicide section of the State CID. Police also recovered the late judge’s phone from the suspect.
According to Delta State Police spokesperson SP Edafe Bright, Mngumi confessed to inviting a friend, Nnaji Obalum, along with another accomplice who is still at large, to her home, where they carried out the crime. Nnaji Obalum has since been arrested, while the search for the third suspect continues.
Justice Okogwu, originally from Asaba, was discovered dead at her residence late on Sunday, November 23, 2025. Her killers had bound her hands and legs and ransacked her home during the attack.
