Sanusi Banished to Nasarawa
Former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has been banished to an undisclosed village in Nasarawa state, North Central Nigeria.
Sanusi was arrested by security agents on Monday and taken to Nasarawa state after the Kano state government announced that he has been dethroned following what it termed as his violation of the Kano state Emirates law.
The Government appointed Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero as the new Emir of Kano. Bayero was before his appointment the Emir of Bichi, one of the newly created Emirates by the state government.
Sanusi’s reign as the 14th Emir of Kano lasted for five years.
