Ruben Amorim Set to Replace Erik Ten Hag as Manchester United Manager
In a swift move following Erik Ten Hag’s dismissal on Monday, Manchester United has reportedly reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim to take over as head coach. According to sources at The Athletic, the Premier League club is prepared to activate Amorim’s €10 million release clause, signaling their commitment to securing the 39-year-old’s services.
Amorim has expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, prompting United to initiate negotiations with Sporting Lisbon to finalize the appointment. The Portuguese manager had emerged as a strong candidate in the wake of Ten Hag’s departure, alongside other notable figures such as former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez, Brentford manager Thomas Frank, and ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic.
