Rivers State Administrator Snubs House Committee for Second Time
Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), has once again failed to honour an invitation from the House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee overseeing affairs in Rivers State. The Administrator was expected to appear before the committee on Thursday, marking his second absence in a row.
Last week, Ibas requested a postponement after being invited to discuss the current political climate and governance in Rivers State under the State of Emergency. The meeting was rescheduled for 3:00 pm on Thursday, but the Administrator did not attend.
Following his absence, members of the committee held a closed-door session and declined to address the press afterwards. When approached by journalists, the committee chairman, Hon. Julius Ihonvbere, offered no explanation, stating only, “No comment.”
