Rivers Sole Administrator Summons Suspended Governor Fubara, Deputy to Government House
Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral (rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has summoned suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, to appear before him at the Government House in Port Harcourt. The directive, announced in a statement signed by Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, is part of an official inquiry into appointments made during Fubara’s two-year administration.
According to the statement, Fubara is required to present all relevant documents and records related to appointments carried out during his tenure. He is also expected to provide detailed justifications and outline the procedures followed in making those decisions. The session will additionally serve as a platform for the suspended governor to explain why he believes he should be reinstated.
The summons mandates both Fubara and Ordu to appear in person at the Rivers State Government House on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 10:00am. Attendance is described as mandatory, with the inquiry forming part of the Sole Administrator’s efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and lasting peace in the state’s governance.
