Rivers Crisis: Pastor Ibiyeomie Reveals Only Solution to Wike–Fubara Feud
Port Harcourt-based Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries has described the ongoing conflict between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike as a spiritual issue beyond human resolution.
In a viral video message to his congregation, Ibiyeomie stated that the feud cannot be resolved by any mortal, including President Bola Tinubu, and that only divine intervention can bring an end to the political deadlock.
The pastor traced a pattern of political disputes in Rivers State, noting that former Governor Peter Odili clashed with his mentor, Rufus Ada George; Chibuike Amaechi later opposed Odili; and Wike challenged Amaechi. He observed that Fubara is now engaged in a similar confrontation with Wike.
“Even if Governor Fubara selects a successor, conflict is likely to follow,” Ibiyeomie said. “It’s not a physical problem. It’s a spiritual problem. No mortal man can resolve it—only God can.”
