Retired Vice Principal Allegedly Beats Female Neighbor to Death Over Nylon Bag
Ondo State police have taken into custody a retired school vice principal, Alhaji Abdullahi Kasim Ayodele, following the death of his 54-year-old neighbour, Mrs. Caroline Agoi, in Owo, Owo Local Government Area.
The incident reportedly began over a nylon bag that had been blown into Ayodele’s compound along Uselu–Isuada Road. Eyewitnesses say a verbal dispute across the fence quickly escalated.
According to residents, Ayodele, accompanied by his son, allegedly went to Mrs. Agoi’s residence during the confrontation. They claim he picked up a bench outside her home and attacked her, causing her to collapse. She reportedly exhibited signs of severe distress, including frothing at the mouth, and was later pronounced dead.
Sources indicate that Mrs. Agoi was speaking with her husband on the phone at the time of the assault. Her husband, employed as a driver for the Olori of the Olowo of Owo, fainted upon learning of the attack and was admitted to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, for treatment.
The deceased’s body has been moved to a local mortuary, while the community expressed shock over the violent incident.
Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, confirmed the arrest of Ayodele and stated that investigations are ongoing.
