President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to depart Abuja on Thursday, February 15, for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he will participate in the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).

The summit’s overarching theme, “Educate an African fit for the 21st Century,” emphasizes the imperative of building resilient education systems to enhance access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning across the continent.

President Tinubu will engage in high-level discussions on various critical issues, including institutional reforms of the African Union, peace and security matters, and specific thematic topics such as climate change. Additionally, he will deliberate on the modalities of the AU’s participation and its priorities within the G20 framework.

During the summit, President Tinubu will also partake in an extraordinary meeting of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in his capacity as the Chairman of the regional body.

Accompanying the President on this diplomatic mission are select ministers and other high-ranking government officials. President Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja following the conclusion of the summit.
