Power sector stakeholders advocate that SGF be called to order
In a recent meeting monitored online, some power sector stakeholders at a stakeholders forum, have urged the president to call Boss Mustapha the SGF, to order for what they described as undue thirst for power capable of derailing the vision and legacy of this administration.
In a communique released after the meeting, the group called on the president to investigate the special interest of the SGF in the power ministry.
They further revealed that the SGF has been working with well cut out plans to bring back the former Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) who they said is his relative.
In the same vein, the stakeholders hinted about a memo purportedly from the SGF attempting to stop Ministers from removing heads of public agencies.
They also accused the SGF of using persons within the ministry to hinder the recent deal brokered with Siemens of Germany to revamp the power ministry.
They however, commended the president for taking prompt action on some the issues they had raised, while also promising that they would continue to monitor happenings within the sector to ensure no individual, no matter how highly placed would be a cog in the wheel of plans to improve the power sector and ultimately the national economy.
