The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has made significant strides in combating kidnapping in Abuja, uncovering a hideout linked to a notorious gang in the Sauka area along Airport Road. Four suspects, including an ex-convict, have been arrested following the operation.
In a statement, FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh confirmed the arrests made on October 1. The suspects were identified as Yau Sani, alias “Baba”; Nuhu, known as “Giwa”; Kabiru Mohammed; and Yusuf Hassan. They are accused of orchestrating a series of kidnappings that have plagued the FCT and surrounding regions.
The suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement in multiple kidnappings and the murder of seven victims. Their criminal activities extended to various locations, including Dakwa, Dawaki, Aco Estate, Dupe Village, Zuma Rock, Kuchiko Village, and several areas in Niger and Kaduna states.
