Police Sound Alarm as ‘No Gree for Anybody’ Slogan Gains Nationwide Traction
In a recent press briefing held in Abuja, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) raised concerns about the widespread adoption of the ‘no gree for anybody’ slogan among the nation’s youth, cautioning that it has the potential to spark crises.
The catchphrase, which has gone viral on social media and permeated the streets, is humorously being hailed as the unofficial motto for 2024. Its essence encourages individuals to stand against any form of nonsense or bullying.
Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, during the briefing, revealed that intelligence reports indicate the slogan could lead to a crisis of monumental proportions. While it may seem like harmless banter to some, security experts view it as a perilous rallying cry.
Adejobi expressed, “The new slogan for 2024 for young people is ‘no dey gree for anybody.’ We have been informed from our intelligence that this is coming from the retributionary sector that might likely cause problems across the country.”
Despite its seemingly innocuous nature, the police perceive ‘no dey gree for anybody’ as a potentially divisive and dangerous slogan capable of triggering widespread unrest.
In a related development, the force announced the arrest of three individuals, Ahmed Sulaimon, Balikisu Aliyu, and Aboki Samuel, believed to be connected to the Christmas Eve attacks on communities in Plateau state.
