Police Rescue Abducted UNTH Security Guard, Launch Manhunt for Female Nurse
Enugu State Police Command has successfully rescued a security guard who was abducted alongside a senior female nurse at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku-Ozalla, in Nkanu West Local Government Area.
According to a statement by DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the security guard was rescued at Ishi-Ozalla in the same local government area around 11:45 p.m. on March 12, 2024, following intensive operations launched immediately after the abduction.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has instructed police operatives to escalate efforts to rescue the nurse and apprehend the abductors. Additionally, he has called on the Neighborhood Watch Group, Forest Guards, and Local Vigilantes to collaborate in the search and rescue mission.
Residents of the Ituku-Ozalla community and its environs have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals by contacting 08099854883 or emailing infoenugupolice@gmail.com.
The hunt for the abducted nurse continues as authorities work tirelessly to ensure her safe return and bring the perpetrators to justice.
