U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is facing renewed public scrutiny after old reality TV footage resurfaced, showing him dancing in his underwear on MTV’s The Real World: Boston in 1997. The clips, which have gone viral on social media, depict Duffy performing for his castmates while wearing only underwear or a towel.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, another scene from the show captures Duffy removing his pants in front of female cast members as part of a joke. The footage has reignited discussions about his past, including claims that he once skipped a scheduled mentorship meeting with at-risk children to spend time with a local woman.

Duffy rose to public prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s through appearances on multiple MTV reality shows, including The Real World: Boston, Road Rules: All Stars, and Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Battle of the Seasons. His wife, Rachel Campos-Duffy, also gained fame through The Real World: San Francisco before becoming a Fox News contributor. The couple has nine children.

In November 2024, former President Donald Trump nominated Duffy as Secretary of Transportation. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on January 28, 2025, with a 77–22 vote and was sworn into office the same day. Since taking on the role, he has focused on addressing aviation safety concerns following the Washington Reagan Airport tragedy that claimed 67 lives.

Duffy’s appointment makes him the second former Fox News personality to join Trump’s cabinet this year, following Pete Hegseth’s confirmation as Secretary of Defense. While his past reality TV appearances have resurfaced, it remains unclear whether they will have any political impact on his role in the administration.
