PH Refinery Petrol Reserved Exclusively for Our Outlets – NNPCL

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has clarified that petroleum products from the recently revived Port Harcourt Refinery are currently designated solely for its retail outlets. This announcement was made by the company’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, on Wednesday.

According to Soneye, the refinery, located in Eleme, Rivers State, resumed production on Tuesday and is rolling out at least 200 trucks of products daily, including petrol, diesel, and kerosene. However, he emphasized that bulk sales and portal access for purchase have not yet commenced, as the necessary processes are still being finalized.

The update coincided with remarks from the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), which stated that its members were still awaiting the new petrol price template from the refinery. PETROAN’s National President, Dr. Billy Harry, expressed optimism about the refinery’s operations, noting that the commencement of production and loading was a positive development for the sector.

In a statement, Soneye clarified that the NNPCL is still supplying petrol purchased from the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals while awaiting the full integration of products from Port Harcourt. He added that prices at NNPCL outlets are regularly reviewed and adjusted as necessary to align with market realities.

Dr. Harry, speaking on behalf of PETROAN, reiterated that members are operating under the old pricing template for now and are eagerly anticipating new pricing from the NNPCL. He also expressed hope that the refinery’s operations would ultimately lead to more affordable fuel prices for Nigerians.
