“Paul Lied Against Me; I’m Not Responsible for Jude’s Legal Troubles” – Peter Okoye
Peter Okoye, formerly of the defunct music duo P-Square, has refuted claims that he played a role in the ongoing legal issues of his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
The controversy arose after Peter’s twin brother, Paul Okoye, publicly accused him of attempting to get Jude jailed. Speaking to the press after a court session on Friday, Paul vowed to ensure Jude’s release.
In response, Peter’s manager, Emem Kush, dismissed the allegations in an interview with *Saturday Beat*, stating that Peter had no involvement in the case. According to Kush, Peter’s petition was solely against a company that had been receiving funds on his behalf, not against Jude personally. He emphasized that the matter was under the jurisdiction of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which should be approached for further details.
Jude Okoye is currently facing charges related to an alleged N1.38 billion fraud case. He was remanded in prison on Friday following a ruling by the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos. The EFCC is leading the investigation into the matter.
