Pastor Killed by Suspected Bandits on His Farm
Pastor Gideon, a Hausa cleric and secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Ejiba, Yagba West Local Government Area, has been killed in an attack by suspected bandits.
Local sources reported that the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, February 22, 2026, when Pastor Gideon went to his cashew farm on the outskirts of the community. According to witnesses, he was ambushed by the attackers, who also destroyed his locally made firearm.
An eyewitness described the scene as gruesome, stating that the pastor was left severely mutilated before the assailants fled.
Community members have called on the Nigeria Police Force and the Kogi State Government to respond urgently, highlighting concerns over the rising insecurity in the area and the need for increased protection for residents.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the attack.
