Otti Sidelining Labour Party Members in Appointments – Abure Faction Alleges

Prince Ndubueze, Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) faction loyal to Julius Abure, has alleged that founding members of the party have been sidelined by Governor Alex Otti of Abia State.

Speaking on Wednesday, Ndubueze claimed that Governor Otti’s political group, *Abia Arise*, is reaping the rewards of the LP’s victory in the state, while original party members have been excluded from appointments and decision-making.

Ndubueze stated that a closed-door meeting of his faction was recently held in Abia to address the situation. He accused both Governor Otti and the party’s former presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, of engaging in anti-party activities.

According to him, all aspects of the state government revolve around the *Abia Arise* movement, and no commissioner has been appointed from the LP despite the party’s significant role in securing Otti’s 2023 electoral victory.

He also criticized Mr. Obi’s recent philanthropic visits to parts of Northern Nigeria, saying they were carried out without consultation with the LP leadership. He argued that Obi has not made efforts to unify the party following the elections.

On the recent Supreme Court ruling concerning Julius Abure, Ndubueze maintained that the court’s decision did not remove Abure as the national chairman of the party.
