Orji Uzor Kalu Wears ‘Tinubu for President 2027’ Attire to Senate Plenary, Declares Open Endorsement

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, made a bold statement at Tuesday’s senate plenary by wearing an outfit emblazoned with the words “Tinubu for President 2027.” Speaking to journalists at the National Assembly, Kalu described his attire as a clear and open endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election.

“Can you see what I’m wearing? If you look at the dress I’m wearing, you will know what it is,” Kalu said, emphasizing that his clothing symbolizes strong support for the president. He added that the southeast caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) fully backs Tinubu’s re-election effort.

The senator also revealed that others have begun adopting the campaign attire, indicating a growing movement. “People are already wearing it; I’m not just the first person wearing it,” he stated.

Kalu highlighted that the APC southeast caucus endorsed Tinubu weeks ago, a move led by Governor Hope Uzodinma and co-chaired by the governor of Ebonyi State and the deputy speaker. He described this endorsement as the initiation of the national campaign for Tinubu.

Praising Tinubu’s economic policies, including subsidy removal and exchange rate unification, Kalu portrayed the president’s leadership as beneficial for the country. However, he did not confirm whether the outfit was part of an official campaign launch for the 2027 elections.
