Ondo Poll: “APC Ready to Capture All South-West States for Tinubu” – Ganduje

Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared the party’s readiness to take control of all six states in South West Nigeria. Ganduje made the statement during a stakeholders’ meeting in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Sunday.

The high-level meeting, which took place in anticipation of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo, was attended by prominent APC leaders including Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

Currently, the APC governs four of the six states in the south-west zone—Ekiti, Ondo, Lagos, and Ogun—while the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holds sway in Oyo and Osun. Ganduje, however, assured party members that the APC is making strategic moves to win over the two PDP-controlled states.

“I won’t reveal our secrets for Oyo and Osun, but rest assured, we are strategising. In this geopolitical zone, we must deliver 100 percent for the APC,” Ganduje stated, rallying the south-west to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Addressing party members, particularly those aggrieved by internal disputes in Ondo, Ganduje stressed the importance of unity for the upcoming election. He emphasized that the success of the APC in the Ondo governorship race was crucial to solidifying the party’s influence in the region.

Ganduje also announced that Governor Sanwo-Olu would chair the national campaign council for the Ondo election. He urged party supporters to intensify grassroots mobilization efforts, with the goal of securing 90 percent of the vote in the state.

“We are encouraged by the large turnout at this meeting, which shows the party’s unity and strength,” Ganduje said. “Those who contested in the primaries should not see themselves as losers. There are no victors or vanquished in this exercise—everyone must work together to ensure our success.”
