Omokri, Who Once Vowed Not to Work With Tinubu, Thanks President for Ambassadorial Nomination
Reno Omokri has publicly expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following his nomination for an ambassadorial assignment, describing the opportunity as an honour and a call to serve the nation.
In a statement, Omokri said he was thankful to God and eager to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria through the role. He praised Tinubu’s leadership, characterising it as visionary and exemplary, and noted that he had drawn lessons in forgiveness and patriotism from the President. He urged Nigerians to support the administration for the country’s progress.
Omokri also referenced the unwavering guidance of his parents, Esijolomi and Omerewumi, and commended the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, for his dedication to national security. He further acknowledged his wife, Hana, for providing balance and strength amid sustained public scrutiny.
He rounded off with prayers for peace, prosperity, and advancement for Nigeria.
This comes despite a previously viral interview in which Omokri stated that he would not work with the Tinubu administration, insisting at the time that his conscience would not permit it and revealing that he had earlier declined approaches from within the government.
