Ogun Shifts Lockdown to Friday
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has said that the total lockdown imposed on on the state by President Muhammadu Buhari scheduled to start Monday night has been shifted to April 3rd, 2020.
The Governor disclosed this on Monday shortly after inspecting a 128-bed isolation centre located within the premises of HID Awolowo Model School, Ikenne-Remo. He said he requested the shift in date from Buhari to enable residents of the state to adequately prepare.
“We have approached the President that he graciously allow us in the state to prepare for this lockdown in terms of ensuring that we have enough food banks across the three senatorial districts so that when eventually there is a lockdown, our people would have enough food supply during the lockdown and he graciously accepted.
“During the period of this lockdown, all markets, motor parks, public squares and high contact areas would be fumigated and disinfected. This will be done by the Ministry of Environment” he said.
