Obasanjo’s name missing as rail Stations are named after national leaders
The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has announced that the president has given approval that stations along the Lagos-Ibadan and the Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri corridors should be named in honour of some national leaders.
However, conspicuously missing was the name of a former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The stations are in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Kogi, Edo and Delta States.
The stations named in each of the states are:
LAGOS STATE
* Mobolaji Johnson – Ebute Metta Station
* Bola Ahmed Tinubu – Apapa station
* Lateef Jakande – Agbado station
* Babatunde Fashola – Agege station
OGUN STATE
* Yemi Osinbajo – Kajola station
* Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti – Papalanto station
* Wole Soyinka – Abeokuta station
OYO STATE
* Segun Osoba – Olodo station
* Ladoke Akintola – Omio-Adio station
*Obafemi Awolowo – Ibadan station
KOGI STATE
* Adamu Attah – Itakpe station
* Olushola Saraki – Ajaokuta station
EDO STATE
* Augustus Aikhomu – Itogbo station
* George Innih – Agenebode station
* Tom Ikimi – Ekehen station
* Anthony Eromosele Enahoro – Uromi station
* Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia – Igbanke station
DELTA STATE
