Obasanjo writes former African presidents, seeks support for Akinwunmi Adesina
Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo has written to former presidents asking for their support for the AfDB president Akinwunmi Adesina.
Adesina who is running unopposed for a 2nd five year term as AfDB president has come under fire recently when whistleblowers sent a petition alleging corruption and abuse of office.
Adesina was cleared by the ethics committee set up by the board of the AfDB but the US has insisted on an independent enquiry prompting outrage and accusations of witch hunting.
