NYSC Female Corps Member Assaulted in Kwara Government School
A female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in Kwara State has accused staff members at Government Day Junior Secondary School, Kulende, Ilorin, of physical assault and harassment during a visit to collect her clearance letter.
The incident reportedly began when a teacher allegedly confronted the corps member for not greeting properly. A source familiar with the matter stated, “A teacher said she did not greet well, and that was how it all started. The teacher beat her and tore her clothes.”
The name of the corps member involved has not been disclosed, but the incident has raised concerns about the safety and treatment of NYSC members in the state.
When contacted for comment, NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Carol Lembu, confirmed that the matter was under investigation. “It is being addressed accordingly. Thank you,” she told reporters.
