NYPD Detective Goes Viral After Starring in Rap Video as Str!pper
Detective Melissa Mercado of the NYPD is making headlines after being recognized as a featured dancer in a recently released rap music video. Mercado, who has served as a detective for seven years, appears in the video wearing a bra and G-string while twerking on stage.
The video, titled *Doin That*, was released in early February by New York rapper S-Quire but has only recently gained widespread attention. Directed by Picture Perfect and distributed by WorldStarHipHop, the video opens with Mercado performing on stage in an empty bar as S-Quire raps about pole dancing and partying. Her role extends beyond the club setting, with additional scenes showing her in a thong in a VIP section and posing in lingerie on a bed.
Despite the viral attention, Mercado appears to have avoided any professional repercussions. According to the *New York Post*, she earns $144,000 annually as a detective in the Bronx Special Victims Unit. A police union source stated that Mercado is a capable officer and, as long as she is not breaking the law, is entitled to spend her personal time as she chooses.
S-Quire has yet to comment on the situation, but the video continues to gain traction, recently surpassing one million views.
