Ningi’s Budget Padding Allegation is a Civilian Coup to Unseat Akpabio, Bamidele Claims
Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District, has vehemently rejected claims made by Senator Abdul Ningi regarding the 2024 Budget passed by the Senate, labeling them as a “civilian coup.”
In a heated response, Bamidele, who also serves as the Majority Leader of the upper chamber, accused Ningi, representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, of orchestrating an attempt to oust Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The alleged motive behind this allegations was to incite the Northern Senators’ Forum against Akpabio, a southern senator who succeeded Ahmad Lawan in the Senate presidency.
The accusations have ignited tension within the Senate, with Bamidele denouncing Ningi’s claims and asserting the integrity of the budgetary process.
