Nigerian Woman, Two of her Children Die in Texas Road Crash
A Nigerian family has been thrown into mourning after a woman, Nihinlolawa Agoro, and two of her children lost their lives in a road accident in Texas, United States.
The crash, which also left several others injured, occurred on Sunday morning, March 15, 2026, along US-90A between Harlem Road and Pitts Road.
According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, an SUV carrying five people was heading eastbound when a truck traveling in the opposite direction crossed the median, lost control, and rammed into the vehicle.
Authorities said the impact was severe, causing the truck to overturn and catch fire.
Three occupants of the SUV were confirmed dead at the scene, including Agoro and two young women aged 18 and 22.
The truck driver, aged 20, alongside two children from the SUV—a 4-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl—were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
Officials are investigating the cause of the crash and are working to determine whether alcohol played a role.
Preliminary findings suggest the victims may have been on their way to church at the time, based on their clothing.
A family member, Lola Oni, confirmed the incident in a Facebook post, as tributes begin to emerge from friends and loved ones.
The investigation is ongoing.
