Nigerian Woman Dies Hours After Arriving in UK for Child’s Graduation
A Nigerian woman has died less than 20 hours after arriving in the United Kingdom to attend her child’s graduation ceremony.
The incident was disclosed on X by SK the Plug, who identified the deceased as Mrs. Oluranti Olufunmilayo Esther Akinyemi (née Oluwalana/Ogundana).
According to the post, Mrs. Akinyemi travelled to the UK on February 11, 2026, in preparation for her child’s graduation scheduled for February 18. In the early hours of February 12, she reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and was taken to Luton and Dunstable University Hospital for treatment.
She remained in a coma for three days and was pronounced clinically dead on February 14.
Further details surrounding the incident have not been made public.
