Nigerian Who Wrote WAEC 17 Times Earns Distinction from London Graduate School
Dr. Emmanuel Ahmadu, a Nigerian mental health advocate and professional, has achieved a remarkable academic milestone by earning a distinction from the prestigious London Graduate School in the UK. This accomplishment follows his extraordinary journey of perseverance, which included writing the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) 17 times due to family instability during his early years.
Dr. Ahmadu, who is currently based in the United States, shared the news during an interview in Lagos, where he was also inducted as a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC). The induction ceremony and certification workshop, held in Lagos and the UK on November 26, highlighted his significant contributions to mental health advocacy and consultancy.
The Institute of Management Consultants praised Dr. Ahmadu’s “outstanding academic and professional standing” and his commitment to upholding global standards in management consulting. His dual honors – the Fellowship and certification as a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) – further enhance his ability to offer expertise in over 50 countries, including the United States and the UK.
Reflecting on his journey, Dr. Ahmadu shared that his challenging childhood saw him attend 16 primary schools and 14 secondary schools. Despite these obstacles, he persevered, eventually earning two honorary doctorates and publishing works in mental health journals. His story has inspired millions worldwide, emphasizing resilience and determination.
“This recognition is not just a personal milestone but a step forward in the global fight against mental health crises,” Dr. Ahmadu said. “It’s a call to action to innovate solutions that inspire hope and resilience, particularly among Gen Z, teenagers, and adolescents.”
On Instagram, he expressed gratitude, writing: “Nothing is impossible with God. I’m forever grateful for this life-changing moment and determined to keep pushing forward in this journey to make a positive difference in the world.”
During the induction ceremony, Prof. David Iornem, Director-General of IMC Nigeria, lauded Dr. Ahmadu’s expertise and resilience, stating that his leadership would elevate global efforts in mental health advocacy and management consultancy. Dr. Ahmadu affirmed his commitment to expanding his impact and addressing mental health challenges worldwide.
