Nigerian Man Receives Double Life Imprisonment for Heinous Crime Against Neighbour’s Children
In a disturbing case, 45-year-old Paul Ndedigwe has been handed a severe penalty, receiving double life imprisonment from the Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court. The charges stem from his appalling act of defiling his neighbour’s two children, both aged six and seven.
The court, presided over by Justice Abiola Soladoye, ruled that Ndedigwe’s name would be permanently inscribed in the Sexual Offenders Register maintained by Lagos State. Furthermore, both life sentences are to be served concurrently, reflecting the severity of his crimes.
Describing Ndedigwe as “rough,” “irresponsible,” and a “destiny destroyer,” Justice Soladoye emphasized that the prosecution successfully proved two out of the three counts against the defendant. The judge’s ruling highlighted the particularly egregious nature of the case, as Ndedigwe engaged in sexual acts with the minors simultaneously and in each other’s presence.
“The evidence of prosecution witnesses was corroborated, truthful, and unshaken,” declared Justice Soladoye. “The defendant is hereby found guilty on count one and sentenced to life imprisonment. He is also found guilty on count two and sentenced to life imprisonment.”
During the trial, Mrs. Olufunke Adegoke, counsel for the Lagos State, presented three witnesses, while the convict provided testimony solely for his defense. The prosecution revealed that the crime occurred on November 19, 2021, on Ifelodun Street, Amukoko, Lagos State.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency reiterated the state’s unwavering zero-tolerance stance on such heinous offenses. Despite the gravity of the situation, the agency reassured survivors that help is available, emphasizing their commitment to holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
