Nigerian Executive Found Dead in Canadian Home Hours After Returning From Work

A 33-year-old Nigerian executive, Victoria Kemi Adedoyin, has been found dead in her home in Canada, triggering shock and grief among her family, colleagues, and the Nigerian community abroad.

Adedoyin, who relocated to Canada in July 2022 after obtaining permanent residency, was an accomplished professional working with a multinational firm.

According to reports, she attended church on Sunday, January 18, 2026, and went to work the following day, Monday, January 19. She returned home later that day and was expected to join an online meeting with senior executives.

When she failed to log into the meeting and could not be reached by phone or messages, concerned colleagues alerted the authorities. Police officers later forced entry into her residence, where she was found dead.

Initial information from officials suggested a possible brain aneurysm as the cause of death, but that assessment was later withdrawn due to insufficient evidence. Authorities have not yet confirmed an official cause of death.

Her passing has raised questions and left many struggling to come to terms with the loss.

In a tribute shared by the Facebook group *Nigerians in Canada*, members highlighted her professional achievements and career growth. The group noted that Adedoyin invested heavily in her personal and professional development, earning multiple certifications after relocating.

She joined Accenture Canada as a Senior Analyst and was initially assigned as a Client Account Manager on the Pinterest project. Within eight months, she was promoted to Senior Client Account Manager on the Direct (B2B) team. In 2024, she transitioned to the Agency Team as a Senior Agency Account Manager and later became Team Lead, a role she held until her death.

Her death has been described by community members as a significant loss, both professionally and personally.
